About

Meet Doug Nolan, your family-owned Master Locksmith.

Locksmithing isn’t just my profession. It’s part of my history.

Doug Nolan, Master Locksmith, smiling

I’m Doug Nolan. Over 25 years ago, I began learning the traditional skills of locksmithing, but I quickly realised this trade was about much more than cutting keys or fixing locks. It’s about protecting what matters most to families and businesses in our community.

My journey to becoming a Master Locksmith was driven by a commitment to excellence that goes beyond basic services. Every certification I’ve earned, from my Master Locksmith Association membership to my SCEC approval, represents my dedication to providing the highest level of security expertise to the Fleurieu Peninsula.

I run a family-owned, fully mobile business from Sellicks Beach, with a workshop in the back of the ute and a stock of quality hardware, so most jobs are finished at your door. You’ll get a free, upfront quote and a guarantee on my work, and I’ll tell you plainly what you need, and what you don’t.

What does SCEC approval mean?

SCEC (Security Construction and Equipment Committee) is the Australian Government’s regulatory body that oversees security standards for government, defence and sensitive facilities. SCEC approval represents the highest level of professional endorsement for locksmiths in Australia.

Why it matters for you

When you choose a SCEC-approved locksmith like Doug, you’re getting someone who:

  • Has passed rigorous government security vetting
  • Is authorised to work on defence and sensitive government projects
  • Maintains the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Is regularly audited for compliance and competence

A strict code of conduct

  • Integrity & honesty: complete transparency in all dealings
  • Professional excellence: work to the highest standards
  • Confidentiality: strict privacy protection for all client information
  • Compliance with all Australian laws and regulations
  • Respect & courtesy for every client
  • Conflict-of-interest disclosure
  • Ongoing accountability, with regular reporting to SCEC

The same professional standards Doug applies to government and defence facilities are applied to every residential and commercial job: government-vetted expertise, audited professional practices, guaranteed confidentiality, and the highest industry standards.
